Karai looked at Mitsuhide, seeing him for the first time in what felt like ages. “No you haven’t. We all care about you, no one is mad at you and we won’t yell or hurt you. We’ll save you but you have to tell that spirit you don’t want to be his. You belong to me, koibito, don’t listen to him.”, he brushed a hand against his cheek, pressing kisses to his forehead. “Don’t give in to him, come back to me. I love you, koibito, I don’t want to lose you.”, he wished there were more he could do for Mitsuhide, to drive that spirit away.
“Listen to me, I still love you, no matter what, I want you to be my wife. I swear, the second that spirit is will let you go, we’ll be married, it won’t be perfect but I can’t stand this.”, he clung to Mitsuhide so tightly, looking at his eyes now that he was alive. He brushed Mitsuhide’s hair away to see them closer, more clearly. Those beautiful silver eyes.
Motochika, feeling a bit embarrased for once, glanced over at Motonari wondering how to explain. “Ermm… The spirits…” seemed to be the best he could do. He tried again. “Ya know that big mean one… Think it’s bothering Akechi and… Hell, I dunno.” He scratched his head wondering if he’d done the right thing- on the bright side Mitsuhide seemed more alive, awake, and aware. Not that he had any idea if that was a result of what he’d done or if it was something else entirely but hey, it was an improvement. Then again if improvement was a good thing was something that was yet to be seen.
“I see,” Motonari moved closer to Motochika, still feeling a bit cold from being wet, but at least the room was finally warming. Now if only the things happening in the room would make sense and if only he hadn’t heard the details of Karai’s sex life. He didn’t know what to do or say or even what to believe at this point, especially since he hadn’t seen any ghosts, only felt the cold. He’d fought with Akechi before, so he knew that the tactician had a cold aura about him. Thus, he couldn’t really take that as proof of spirits. How did any of them know that he wasn’t just using his powers as a trick? Shaking his head, he left the room, having nothing more to say.
Mitsuhide wasn’t aware of that, though, or that Motonari didn’t believe in anything surrounding his problem. He closed his eyes, tears falling from them and shook his head. ”He will never let me go. As long as I live, I will never be free.” (Source: childofthetsun)

Karai knew they weren’t going to give their word. He didn’t expect it. He knew them both. They didn’t care for Mitsuhide because he was unpredictable but there were other volatile members aboard this ship that could tear the vessel apart in minutes if they wanted to. Karai held Mitsuhide close to him, almost protectively. He heard Mitsuhide speaking but … his voice gave him shivers, still it was familiar. It was Momomaru speaking. Only Momomaru called him Kagura. So he had to smile a little. “Momomaru is the best wife I could ever ask for!”, he hugged him tight, hoping Mitsuhide would come back to him. It was clear that Momomaru was who this lord wanted. He wanted Momomaru, not necessarily Mitsuhide. This person must’ve hurt Momomaru. It didn’t surprise him.
“Momomaru is my wife, you can’t have him! We had sex and everything to make it official!”, he continued, remembering that brief time they had together. They woke up beside each other and Karai was mistaken but they did end up loving each other that night. Kyoune was their baby, Motochika was Motonari’s wife, Sorin had hidden under the cupboard to cry. Everyone must’ve been looking at Karai like he was crazy but he took possession of Mitsuhide. “Momomaru wants to be my wife, not yours!”, hopefully, that ghost would give up soon and realize Mitsuhide wanted him. That he could convince all of the children spirits as well that these two were meant to be together, not with their lord.
Motochika was getting increasingly uncomfortable being in the room for various reasons. One, Mitsuhide was acting creepy as fuck and had apparently regressed to childhood. Two, he was the one who’d gotten Mitsuhide hurt in the first place. Three, he was hearing things that were way too personal for his liking. Things he had never wanted to know. Noooo thank you. There were so many reasons he wanted to leave he couldn’t even list them all but he didn’t think that Kyoune would approve; it was obvious that he was already displeased that Motochika hadn’t promised him a single thing. But he supposed he did owe Karai some of the help he hadn’t been able to properly provide before. He wasn’t sure what the hell was going on but he’d just work with what he thought he knew. “Karai’s right ya know. Whoever ya are, yer dead and ya look like a clouda stink. Ya aint suited for Akechi and ya won’t ever be. I mean how can ya say ya deserve him more or love him more or whatever the hell when all ya do is cause him trouble? Yer a shitty kinda ghost thing. Go bother Nanbu or something. You two were made for eachother.” Hopefully Motonari wouldn’t think he’d cracked.
Kyoune was quite upset, thinking for sure that his family was about to be destroyed, but then he was met with a great surprise. Motochika spoke up to that weird ghost person or persons that was doing this to Mitsuhide. ”Y-Yea!” That wasn’t clever at all or the least bit of helpful, but he tried. He was feeling hopeful again.
Motonari in the mean time just stood there confused, then staring at Motochika. ”I don’t even know what’s going on…” and he could only guess that Momomaru was Mitsuhide’s first name.
Things began to warm up in the room though and Mitsuhide’s fingers tightened to grip Karai’s shirt. He looked right at Karai, actually blinking and showing signs of being alive. ”Everyone is mad because of me. I’ve been bad again. I don’t want to be yelled at or hurt anymore. Please save me.” (Source: childofthetsun)

Karai hadn’t even noticed when everyone came into the room. He was shivering, maybe from the cold or maybe from his fiance. He wasn’t sure. He just kept talking to him, his blank stare was haunting, dead. He still breathed but there was so little warmth to his body. “My father didn’t approve of me either. Kamui always got special treatment since he was the ‘original’ of us. The first to really go into production and make music.”, he started, wanting Mitsuhide to say something.
“He hated me, Tekuno was lazy but he didn’t do the things I did before I met you.”, he kept going, nuzzling into the cold skin, trying to warm him up to very little avail. “Both of our fathers hate us, huh? We want to make them proud of us but you can only do so much to make them understand. Even now, I can hear him thinking you would be a beautiful bride until I tell him you’re a man.”, he chuckled but he didn’t find anything funny. “They’ll just have to be mad at us no matter what because I won’t leave you.”
“Don’t worry about it, Kyoune.” Motochika laughed but didn’t promise. He didn’t feel that he rightfullly could; if Mitsuhide became a real danger to the people aboard his ship, regardless of the reason, he would likely attempt to hurt him again, and if Mitsuhide killed someone… Well… Then Mitsuhide would be joining them in death shortly, spirits or no. He wasn’t completely oblivious either; sometimes when looking at Toki or Yuuki (particularly Yuuki) he’d catch a glimpse of fierce, animalistic protectiveness in their eyes and get a sinking feeling that if Kyoune was ever injured there would be hell to pay. Of course Motochika didn’t believe that they were cold-blooded killersor that they were more than little kids but sometimes he caught an odd and vaguely familiar look in their eyes and it made him shiver. What Mouri had said had only made him more concerned. The more he thought about it, the more he didn’t want to make any promises for them either.
Before he could find a way out of the tangled web of worries he’d been weaving, Kyoune dragged him down the hall and he was too surprised to do much in the way of resistance. Before he knew it he was in Karai and Mitsuhide’s room again and feeling more awkward and unwanted than ever. Mitsuhide was cold and unmoving and there was a certain chill to the air- what was worse, Karai sounded so desperate. Guilt dropped into the pit of his stomach like a stone and he tried to shake free of Kyoune. “Look, I shouldn’t be here right now. It aint right.” he rasped, though he couldn’t tear his eeys from the scene.
Kyoune had the feeling that Motochika was just laughing it off and that it was not a true promise. For one thing, he didn’t say the words ‘I promise’. Being only 18, Kyoune had been treated like a child all of his life, which meant that peopel often weren’t straight with him. He could tell when they weren’t. ’Don’t worry about it’, in his experience, was what you told a crying kid so that they could stop crying because you didn’t have the heart to tell them that you couldn’t make that promise. Kyoune did stop crying, wiping his eyes and stepping away from Motochika, hardening his face. He should have known that Motochika wouldn’t promise it. They were samurai, and to them, killing was only acceptable when it fell under the right circumstances. The only thing he could say now was that Mitsuhide needed to get better, or he was going to cause everyone here to be torn apart.
Motonari was still confused about what was going on, and so he followed, smoothing his wet hair back. Stepping into the room behind his boyfriend, he immediately shivered, pulling his robe closer to his body. “Onii-sama, what are you-” he started, but then he was cut off by Mitsuhide’s voice speaking in a hauntingly childish tone.
“Master, Motochika came and Motonari too. Can’t I go play with Kagura now? He’s sad because his father doesn’t love him.” (Source: childofthetsun)

Karai was still unaware of what Kyoune was doing for the most part, sitting Mitsuhide up and keeping him close to his chest. “Wake up soon, koibito. Please, I beg you … “, he had to stay strong or Kyoune would just break down. He had to but the idea that Mitsuhide was going to be gotten rid of because of these spirits plagued him. “Please, let him go, I know you can hear me, I need you, koibito … “, he kissed him, over and over until something would happen. Either his jealous ex lover or those children or Mitsuhide himself returned. “Please, come back to me … “
Motochika patted Kyoune’s head and attempted a reassuring chuckle. Really the kid was overreacting. “None of us are going to kill anyone on this ship. Calm down, alright kiddo?” he looked over his shoulder at Motonari. “Looks like he thinks yer gonna kill Akechi.” And then back to kyoune. “But don’t ya worry. Regardless of how fucked up Akechi is neither of us is gonna kill him. Both of us care about Karai too much. Thing is we need to figure out a way to keep him from killin’ us all when he gets better but we aint gonna kill him.”
“You promise?” Kyoune looked up at Motochika with big, tear-filled eyes, still hugging the pirate’s waist. He wasn’t just trying to use his cuteness to win favor. This time, he was really serious and desperate. The only family he had was falling apart, and as much as he adored Motochika, he didn’t think he could survive if Karai was taken away from him. His family would be over.
“I haven’t said that,” Motonari answered softly, tucking hair behind his ear. That was all he wanted to say on the matter. As much as he loved Karai, if it came down to protecting his own lovers and family from Mitsuhide, he would kill his rival tactician without flinching and feel sorry for it only after it was done, if he did at all.
“When he gets better, he’ll… just come with me, ok?” Grabbing Motochika’s hand, Kyoune pulled the pirate into Karai’s room and pointed, showing the pirate how Karai was cradling Mitsuhide while he lifelessly stared. And that room was still freezing cold. (Source: childofthetsun)

“Because that lord of there’s knew Mitsuhide. He’s too close. It has to have something to do with Mitsuhide’s childhood. All of the kids called him Momomaru.”, Karai sighed, trying to relax and calm down. He was trying to think of a way to help Mitsuhide. He had to keep talking to him, he knew he did. If everyone loved Mitsuhide, the children would be convinced he should be let go and stop being controlled by that man’s spirit. He sat up, seeing Kyoune run away crying. He could hear him pounding on Motochika’s door for him. He was worried and went to hold onto Mitsuhide again. “It’ll be okay, I love you, koibito. Don’t worry. I’m not giving up on you, ever … “, he sighed, trying to keep himself calm and quiet, petting Mitsuhide’s hair, much like he would do when he had nightmares and cried to him.
“Woah, woah!” Motochika spluttered, trying to push Kyoune away. This was awkward, particularly now that he knew why Kyoune was here. So someone had told him? Wasn’t he not supposed to tell Kyoune? Had Karai? Mitsuhide? Not that he figured Mitsuhide was in any state to mention it; Karai seemed more likely. “Motonari aint gonna kill anyone! Calm down! Right, Motonari?” he asked, looking back meaningfully at him. “Now gimme a second, Kyoune. I’ve gotta grab some clothes, alright?” He gradually extracted himself from Kyoune’s grip and hurried back to the bathroom to pull on his yukata. With that done he strode back, wet feet slapping on the floor. “Now what’s all this about, huh?”
Motonari was just confused, looking at Motochika with his eyebrows raised. ”I am not going to kill anyone?” He repeated as more of a question than a statement. ”What’s going on?” He just stood in the door way, tying his robe around his still wet body, moving out of the way so that Motochika could go in as well.
Kyoune stood there sniffling until Motochika was back. As soon as he was, he attached himself to the pirate’s waist again. ”Please Aniki, don’t be mad at Mitsuhide. It’s not his fault that those spirits are making him do things. Don’t kill him. If you do, it’ll kill Onii-chan too and I’ll be alone. I won’t have any family left and I might as well die too.” (Source: childofthetsun)

Motochika was just getting completely relaxed when the yelling and pounding started, coming from the next room over. Fuck- Kyoune- That was Kyoune, wasn’t it? He y quickly extracted himself from the bath, nearly falling out several times because of his determination not to drag Motonari out and immediately darted for the door- screw covering up, someone was in trouble or something. Kyoune sounded greatly distressed! He threw open the door and looked down the hallway. “Kyoune, ya okay?”
Kyoune was pounding on Motochika’s door, crying his little eyes out until he turned and saw Aniki there, bare assed naked. Well ok, that wasn’t traumatizing at all. Nope. His day had been absolutely trauma free. Well, it didn’t matter. Sobbing, Kyoune threw himself on the pirate, hugging his waist and not caring for the nakedness and the fact that now he was getting wet.
At about this time, Motonari stepped out of the room, pulling on a robe. Seeing this, his brow raised. Thankfully, he wasn’t the easily jealous type and that he had been there for most of the goings on. Other wise, he’d be stabbing Kyoune right now for how this scene looked.
“What is this?” the brunette asked, raising his brow.
“Please,” Kyoune pleaded looking up at Motochika. ”Please don’t kill Mitsuhide. He’s sorry for everything. Please don’t let Lord Mouri kill him!” (Source: childofthetsun)

Karai followed the hand that struck his face, lessening the damage to nothing more than a scratch. “Mitsuhide is my family! If I didn’t love him, I wouldn’t have done everything for him, don’t you dare question how much I love him!”, he was getting upset now, the children were stubborn. The children seemed to recede, fleeing to the inner corners of Mitsuhide’s dreams. Karai got off of him and held him close. “I’m sorry Kyoune, that you had to see that. Most of them are only kids but the one in charge is their ‘lord’. I don’t know who that could be, Mitsuhide didn’t speak about this and for good reason, I guess. He laid down and sighed, feeling exhausted. Tired and dirty, yes. However, he was mostly feeling useless. “I can only hope those child spirits see reason and that I’m right.”, he felt Mitsuhide curling next to him and he held him close to his chest. “Motochika and Motonari don’t care for Mitsuhide like I do, but you do and Sorin does. I have a feeling Motonari will want to kill Mitsuhide for the safety of everyone else on the ship.”, his heart was sinking, he felt sick. He wanted to throw up right now but he held it back.
Kyoune stood close by, frightened by all that he was seeing and trying not to cry as horrible things happened to Mitsuhide and his brother. Still, he was going to be strong, just nodding and swallowing twice as he stared at the silverette and his attempt to curl up in a ball. ”It’s hurting him, isn’t it? Why do they have to do this to him and to you?” Neither of them knew that the lord was manipulating the children and that he was a jealous ex lover who had been murdered. ”No,” Kyoune shook his head. He’d been holding back all this time, but now hearing that Mitsuhide would be killed was too much. The tears fell rapidly and he backed away from the bed quickly, putting his arm over his eyes as he shook his head, trying to stop crying. They couldn’t kill Mitsuhide. He wouldn’t let them. It wasn’t his fault. Surely they would see that. Feeling there was nothing else to do, Kyoune ran from the room and went to Motochika’s, pounding on his door and screaming for Aniki. “Mitsuhide’s spirits are taking advantage of him. These are those children I told you about.”, he was speaking as calmly as he could. “He would be happy mourning for the rest of his life? He would be happier if he killed himself with guilt and depression, is that it? You may give him power, he’s nothing without you but he’s greedy, selfish. If he wanted Mitsuhide to be happy, he would know that Mitsuhide doesn’t want this. He doesn’t want to be controlled, he wants to live with me and be happy but he’s jealous of me. He knows I give Mitsuhide happiness.”, he wasn’t denying Mitsuhide killing people, he had sort of accepted it. Discouraged him from the act but he accepted his fiance had killed.
“I’m glad you keep him safe and alive, you heal him and give him power but this doesn’t make him happy. He reaches out for me, even like this. Do you understand now? Your lord wants Mitsuhide to suffer for loving me so much and not himself. He’s trapped him. He’s caused this wound, this broken arm. He caused Mitsuhide to think he’s a monster who doesn’t deserve any one to love him. How can you call this happiness?”
“What?” Kyoune stared in disbelief, confused by all of this. Mitsuhide’s spirits? Karai had mentioned them, hadn’t he? But Kyoune didn’t see anything. Just Mitsuhide laying there with Karai on top of him and the silverette staring at the ceiling, as he had been. The only difference was that now he was talking and… “Onii-chan, why is this room so cold?” Kyoune went over near the nightstand and put the flowers down, going to get near his brother on the bed. However, he happened to turn and nearly screamed his head off. ALL of the flowers were dead and wilted to a pile in the bottom of the vase. ”Onii-chan…” Now, Kyoune was scared.
“LIES,” Mitsuhide’s good hand lashed out for Karai’s face, trying to claw at it . ”Go back to your family and leave ours alone. No one loves Momomaru, and if you don’t believe that, how about we all go and ask that pirate how he feels? Or the sunworshipper? We’ll see what they have to say…” And after that was said, Mitsuhide’s arm went limp and he once again tried to curl up into a ball. (Source: heavymetalshota)

Pochi let him eat, giggling at how hungry he was but then again, he didn’t know what hunger was. He didn’t know the growls a person’s stomach made or the empty feeling. He waved to Kyoune and went to nap, rolling on his back and curling up a little to sleep.
“I don’t want you children to leave, you care about him too but that lord of yours is warping your minds, telling you I’m a bad person. I don’t care about myself, I care about Mitsuhide and all of you. That lord wants him to be his and only his, he’s trying to take him away, even from you all. I want Mitsuhide to be happy though.”, Karai looked at the eyes, certainly, they were Mitsuhide’s but at the same time, they weren’t. It scared him but he wouldn’t let his fear get in the way. “I wouldn’t die for him. As self centered and conceited as it may sound, I wouldn’t because I know Mitsuhide loves me. He couldn’t live without me. He tried to kill himself because he knew your lord would take him away from me. He’s dreaming about me because he doesn’t want to accept a reality where we aren’t together. So no, I wouldn’t die. Mitsuhide needs me too much for me to just die.”
While those two ate and napped, Kyoune was sure that Mitsuhide was ok, so he just let himself in with the flowers, being excited only to realize that this wasn’t really Mitsuhide. ”Onii-chan, what’s happening?” He could see his brother sitting on Mitsuhide and that worried him even more.
“Our Lord said that if you love Momo-dono, you would be willing to die to let him be happy,” Mitsuhide’s face was absolutely blank and emotionless as he said all of this and his eyes were fixed on the ceiling above them. He really had become a doll or a puppet for his own evil spirits. ”Our lord wouldn’t take him away from us because we give him his power. We helped Momo-dono kill the bad people. All those people were bad.” (Source: heavymetalshota)

Pochi always moved the food back and shook his head. He didn’t eat so of course, he wouldn’t let Kurosukai give him food he could eat. He liked his friend too, sometimes nudging him and rubbing against him with cuddles. Hopefully Kyoune would come back with those oats for him. Poor Kuro must be hungry still.
“How do you know if I’m lying when all you can trust is the word of your lord? What has he done to prove his credibility to you? He’s trapped Mitsuhide’s mind in a dream. He’s made Mitsuhide so miserable that he wanted to die on Motochika’s anchor, he’s become thin because he refuses to let him eat, he brings him nightmares so he can’t sleep. Is that someone who loves him? I’ve taken care of him, fed him, spoken to him, calmed him down every night and pet his hair until he fell asleep again without fail. Can your lord do that for Mitsuhide? Can you? You’re right, I don’t call him by his real name because his real name isn’t enough for me. I call him my koibito because he’s the one I love so let him go. He’s suffering, so stop. Let him wake up.”, Karai could only hope to convince these children that he meant no harm to them or Mitsuhide. That he loved him since the first time he laid eyes on him.
Kyoune wasn’t long, bringing a big bowl of oats soaked in water for the horse. “There you are, Kurosukai. I have to go check on Onii-chan now. I’ll see you two later.” Kurosukai snorted and let Pochi rub on him while he started eating ravenously. In the mean time, Kyoune headed back to the room, picking up all the flowers, though he stopped at the door, sure that he was hearing Mitsuhide’s voice.
“Our Lord loves Momo-dono, we know this. Everything has been for Momo-dono since he was small.” The children argued. ”You want us to leave. You don’t care that if we do, Momo-dono would die. You only care about yourself.” Mitsuhide’s body turned so that the silver eyes could stare at Karai. ”If you love him so much, we think you should prove it. Would you die for Momo-dono?” (Source: heavymetalshota)
